I watched 3 Idiots finally after 2 failed attempts, first time with no luck in getting tickets and 2nd time round got the tickets but couldn't make it. It was my first movie in a long time, and i was really keen on watching this one. There is always something fresh about Amir Khan and his movies, always a message to spread. And this one too says a lot. In all its humor, it touches upon how 3friends each from different backgrounds, pressures and the way each perceive the all important degree come together!! And the end just sums it all up and says after all you may be the king of the number game, but when it comes to putting knowledge to practice its a whole different ball game!! This movie got my thoughts rolling about our education system, which has students thrown into this vicious circle of numbers. The number game starts from friends in class, teachers making comparisons, parents comparing their friend’s child's marks and they even go as far as talent!! I mean, each student has his/her own strengths and talents which another may not posses. Whilst watching this movie, it got me thinking of a close cousin who is very dear to me, and that’s the way my uncle treats her. For both parents its just the child’s marks which matter, it’s hard to believe that they feel overall personality development is not required!! And to mention, she is the brightest kid I’ve seen, in academics and otherwise too and her talents are suppressed by parents who come from well educated and well rounded backgrounds which is surprising...
I really hope our generation is able to better perceive the education system as a medium of learning and excelling in what and where each ones interest lies, rather than 99.91 % .... 99.92%.................
